Introduction
Note: Your dashboard might look different depending on the features your organisation uses.
Navigating the dashboard
When you log in to Work Author, your dashboard appears. From the dashboard you can easily navigate to different parts of Work Author:
- Use the top navigation bar to start a new document or assessment, view your notifications, or get extra support.
- Use the left-hand menu to view documents, assessments, and settings. Super users can also access reporting and admin settings here.
In the middle of the dashboard, you’ll see a “My recent documents” or "My recent assessments" section that lists all your latest documents and assessments that you have interacted with.
Each card on the dashboard represents a document or assessment that you are working on or completed. Hovering over the card will provide more details on that particular document/assessment, such as the date and time when the document was last modified.
Active assessments you have access to are listed first, followed by your documents. Click on an item in the list to open it.
Clicking "View all" in the top right of the headings will take you to the full list of documents/assessments.
For documents, you can:
- See if it’s part of a group of ‘linked’ documents
- See when it was last viewed
- See your role
- See the document status
- Delete draft documents (more here)
- Archive completed or published documents (more here)
For more information on managing and finding documents, see this article.
Introduction to document statuses
Understanding document statuses on Work Author helps you track and manage your work efficiently.
Status | Image | What does the status mean? |
Draft | A document is in progress, not yet completed.
Completed | All questions are answered, and the document owner has finished the document so it can no longer be edited. If no further workflows are enabled, then this is the final document status.
Published | If workflows are enabled after a document is completed, this indicates that the workflow is fully completed.
Archived | n/a | The document is completed or published and has been moved to the archive by the document owner. Archived documents won't show on your dashboard but are still in "My Documents". |
Viewing your profile
You can view your profile by clicking on your avatar in the top right corner of the screen.
You can use your avatar to sign out, or view your full profile.
Your profile will show:
- Your name
- Your Work Author email address
- Teams assigned to you
- Your role
